Location: West Country (Truro/Exeter)
Salary: £44,000 - £50,000pa DOE

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Service Manager to be based in our West Country Fostering Service to oversee and manage our Truro and Exeter offices This role will be instrumental in developing and delivering Five Rivers’ Fostering Service Business Plan alongside the Team Manager who is based in the Exeter Office and will help shape, influence and implement the future growth and development of our Fostering Services in the West Country.

There are exciting challenges and opportunities for the new Service Manager as Five Rivers continues to develop and improve its services. The expectation will be that the successful candidate will be flexible in working between the Truro and Exeter with a main office base to be agreed at interview. The person appointed will be the Ofsted Registered Manager and will be accountable for the service meeting all regulatory requirements, and leading in our ambition to move from the recent GOOD judgement to one of OUTSTANDING for this Fostering Service.

You will have demonstrable experience in working successfully in a commercial environment, supported by a strong commitment to improving outcomes for looked after children and young people and providing secure, high quality foster care provision. Experience in performance and financial management is essential and you will have a strong understanding of the Fostering Service from a Regulatory, commercial, operational and practise based point of view.

In order to be considered for the post you will need to have experience of working in a management position within a Fostering Service, preferably in the Independent or Voluntary Sector.

You will need to be an HCPC registered Social Worker and either hold a management qualification or be prepared to undertake training to achieve this within the first year of appointment.

You will be required to travel extensively in the area covered by this service and occasionally beyond, as part of the Fostering Service Operations Management Group.

This is an exciting, but demanding opportunity for someone to continue to build a fostering service which continues to develop and grow. This will require someone with Vision, Energy and strong Leadership and Management skills to achieve what we expect of the service in the future.
