Due to the expansion of our service, Five Rivers Child Care are looking for Full-time and Part-time Residential Support (Childcare) Workers to come and join our family at our home in Leeds.

Our home is much like your own and offers a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment for the young people in our care. The culture in our home is one of positivity, energy, optimism and motivation. The service provided at Fountain House in Leeds is rated “Outstanding” by Ofsted and has been specifically designed to meet the needs of children aged between 7 and 11. Fountain House benefits from the addition of a DofE registered school onsite, offering Key Stage 2 and preparation for a smooth transition to Key Stage 3 in a mainstream setting.

We are looking for positive people who are resilient and not easily shocked as you will be required to be consistent, support, love and guide our children unconditionally while being faced with some high-level challenging behaviour including physical and verbal aggression. You will not only be responsible for the basic care and protection of our children but also serve as a positive role model, inspiring the children in all aspects of their life. You will build an appropriate relationship and show resilience with focus to motivate the need for education and enjoy community-based actives.

Requirements

Must be over the age of 21
Must have a Full UK Driving license
Must have a passion for working with children
NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young people or in Health and Social Care is desirable. Flexibility and understanding that we are open all year round, you will be expected to go on holiday with the children and work over Christmas to make their memories special

Salary: £17,500 - £21,000 (depending on experience, pro-rota for part-time roles + £36 per sleep in

Working hours:

Full time: 39 hours a week (overtime is sometimes available when there isn’t a full team of staff)

Part-time: 19.5 hours per week (you would need to be flexible as hours may vary depending on the needs of the children
