Here at Five Rivers Child Care we are looking for Residential Childcare Workers to come and join our family at our home on the outskirts of Weymouth just 30 minutes’ walk from the town centre, with beaches nearby. The home is for a solo placement where our incredible team support a young people aged between 8-17.

Our aim is to provide an in-depth understanding of the young person’s life and how related patterns of behaviour affect everyday choices of how they live. As a team we believe this will support our young person to reach their full life potential. We aim to support the young people to be able to manage their emotions and behaviours in a more positive way by helping them use alternative strategies, ensuring the home is a safe, positive, and create a therapeutic environment in which our young person can thrive

As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will walk into a small friendly team who develop positive attachments and relationships with our young person. They also form strong bonds between themselves as a team due to the nature of the role, this helps create a family atmosphere. The role offers new members of staff the opportunity to have a pleasant and enjoyable work life which will in no doubt offer you daily challenges and hurdles, our young people can demonstrate high levels of challenging behaviour including physical and verbal aggression, you will be trained to help the young people make more positive choices of how they display their emotions, and you will be supported by the manager and other staff to achieve this, we also have clinical support and supervision.

We are looking for people who are strong minded, capable, have a secure understanding of what makes a positive person, open minded, and not afraid to get involved. Someone who is easy going, relaxed, has a “Can do” attitude, smiley, happy, can learn quickly, is willing to go above and beyond, fun, and is outgoing. But above all is warm, loving, caring and forgiving come and join our family and help support our young person and share their important childhood memories. We need people who are willing to open their hearts, emotionally invest and prioritise our young person’s needs.

  • Must be over the age of 21
  • Must have a Full UK Driving license
  • Must have a passion for working with children
  • NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young people or in Health and Social Care 

Flexibility and understanding that we are open all year round, you will be expected to on occasion go on holiday with the children and there is expectancy within the rota for the team to work over Christmas and new year to make their memories special, this is done fairly as possible.

Salary: £17,500 - £20,500 (depending on experience) + £36 per sleep in
