The Role:

As a Childcare Support Worker, you will put the children and young people at the centre of everything you do. You will be committed to the provision of high standards of care at all times. The role requires a willingness to work with a wide range of presenting needs of children and to develop and maintain effective care practice to ensure that the children are cared for in a safe, nurturing environment with a therapeutic underpinning, enabling children to move on to foster acre in a planned and evidenced way.

The position requires the ability to be resilient, to be solution focused, to motivate, to be understanding and insightful of the children and to be part of their successful outcomes. This will require a high degree of energy and an optimistic attitude to ensure a culture of “proactive” day to day care practice in the home is always maintained making a positive difference to children’s lives. The post will require flexible and creative approaches to working and therefore requires the post holder to be able to commit to undertaking a flexible work pattern to attend the needs of the home, team and children.


  • Must be over the age of 21
  • Must have a Full UK Driving licence
  • Must have a passion for working with children
  • NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young people or in Health and Social Care (is desirable)
  • GCSE Maths and English - Grade C is desirable
  • Flexibility and understanding that we are open all year round, you will be expected to go on holiday with the children and work over Christmas to make their memories special
  • You will consider yourself to be a resilient and reliable person who is able to remain calm in situations that may consider difficult and challenging

Salary: £17,500 - £21,000 (depending on experience) + £36 per sleep in

Working hours: 39 hours a week (overtime is sometimes available when there isn’t a full team of staff)
