Salary £37,740 - £40,800 (pro rata)

Due to the on-going expansion of our Fostering Services, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an Independent Reviewing Officer to cover our London & East Service that includes our investment area of the Home Counties. Initially we are looking for someone who is flexible in working one day per week, though consistent with the growth of the service there is scope in the future to increase the working hours

You will be responsible for reviewing all approved foster carers in a given area, in line with the practice and principles contained within Five Rivers’ Policy and Legislation.

You will be required to be registered with the HCPC and have a CQSW / Diploma in Social Work) or equivalent), experience of front-line management or senior social work, with experience of supervising staff and chairing complex meetings such as Child Protection conferences, Multi-Agency meetings or carer reviews.

You must be able to communicate and engage with colleagues at all levels within the organisation, demonstrating a high level of scrutiny, knowledge and challenge in order to drive forward significant improvements in all services provided by foster carers and their families.  You will be part of the Fostering Quality improvements team, reporting to a designated Operational Manager and working alongside the Operational management team to drive standards and performance.

You will also need to be flexible and creative in your approach to the work as well as having a comprehensive knowledge of legislation, policy and procedures relating to looked after children. 

You will be required to travel in the area covered by this service and occasionally beyond, as part of the IRO Group.  This is an exciting for someone to continue to build a fostering service which continues to develop and grow.
